Orang.Baik food distribution outside a mosque
01About the project

Project Summary

Orang.Baik is a community-based initiative launched in November 2024 that nurtures a culture of generosity and shared responsibility, and encourages people to give, connect and support one another. Every Friday, food is distributed outside mosques to congregants as a symbol of warmth, kindness and community care.

Unlike traditional food-aid programmes, Orang.Baik is not limited to low-income groups; it is open to all Friday prayer congregants. This approach reinforces Islamic values that emphasise giving and inclusivity, and becomes a symbol of blessings shared together.

Interestingly, Orang.Baik also applies a circular-economy approach by involving a beneficiary family that runs a food business as the programme's main supplier — supporting a local small enterprise while ensuring the programme's economic sustainability.

In addition, Orang.Baik plays a strategic role in broadening the visibility of the Altruis brand, opening the way for more people to engage directly with the organisation and its core mission of empowering communities.
