JANA SE is a social entrepreneurship initiative under Pertubuhan Dana Kebajikan Bertindak Altruis (Altruis), established to create supportive spaces for communities through an inclusive, ethical, and socially impactful business approach.
This project is designed to nurture Altruis Entrepreneurs who are not only competitive and financially stable, but who also act as agents of change by contributing back to their communities through various forms of support and empowerment.

The implementation of JANA SE is built upon a social entrepreneurship model that integrates four key approaches:

A. Cross-Subsidy Model – Profits generated from business activities are channelled to support other community-based programmes.

B. Microfinancing Support – Provides small-scale financial assistance or seed capital to help community members initiate or expand their micro-enterprises.

C. Buy & Donate Mechanism – A portion of every purchase from products or services is dedicated to charitable or community development purposes.

D. Holistic Enterprise Engagement – Encourages active community participation within a broader and sustainable business ecosystem, fostering long-term inclusivity and shared prosperity.

Beyond developing new entrepreneurs, JANA SE also strengthens existing ones by leveraging the broader Altruis programme network. This interconnected framework allows the outcomes and resources from one initiative to continuously support others—creating a sustainable, mutually reinforcing ecosystem of social entrepreneurship.

Although still in its formative stage, JANA SE is envisioned to unlock greater socio-economic opportunities, particularly for youth and urban vulnerable groups, empowering them to become self-reliant and socially responsible members of the Altruis Entrepreneur Network.
